Regular servicing is one of the most important things you can do to look after your vehicle. If your car is still following its manufacturer’s scheduled maintenance program, a log book service helps ensure the required maintenance is completed at the correct time or kilometre interval. At Peter Mann Automotive in Cessnock, we provide professional log book servicing for a wide range of makes and models, helping local drivers keep their vehicles properly maintained and performing at their best. What Is a Log Book Service? A log book service is carried out according to the servicing schedule specified by your vehicle manufacturer. Your vehicle’s log book outlines which inspections, adjustments and replacements are required at particular kilometre or time intervals. Depending on the vehicle and its scheduled service, this may include: Engine oil and oil filter replacement Fluid level and condition checks Brake inspections Tyre and suspension checks Battery and charging system checks Cooling system inspections Drive belt inspections Filter replacements where required Safety and mechanical checks Other maintenance specified by the manufacturer Following the correct servicing schedule can help identify developing problems early, maintain reliability and potentially prevent more expensive repairs later. Do I Have to Return to the Dealership for Log Book Servicing? No. You generally don't have to return to the dealership that sold you the vehicle simply to have your scheduled log book servicing completed. Peter Mann Automotive is fully qualified to carry out new car and log book servicing in Cessnock. We service vehicles according to the relevant manufacturer specifications and use appropriate quality parts and fluids. This means you can choose a trusted local independent workshop for your scheduled servicing while protecting your rights under your vehicle's statutory warranty. More Than an Oil Change A log book service involves much more than simply draining the old engine oil and fitting a new filter. Following the manufacturer's service schedule allows our technicians to inspect the components that are due for attention at that particular stage of your vehicle's life. This can help uncover issues such as worn brakes, deteriorating belts, fluid leaks, cooling system concerns or suspension wear before they become bigger problems. At Peter Mann Automotive, we also provide a 65-point vehicle inspection with every service, giving your vehicle a thorough check while it is in our Cessnock workshop. Log Book Servicing for Different Makes and Models Modern vehicles have different servicing requirements depending on their make, model, engine, age and kilometres travelled. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we follow the appropriate service information for your particular vehicle. Whether you drive a small passenger car, family SUV, 4WD, ute, European vehicle or another make or model, our qualified technicians can help keep your servicing up to date. Why Is Staying Up to Date With Your Log Book Important? Putting off scheduled servicing can allow relatively minor maintenance issues to develop unnoticed. Over time, old fluids, worn components and overdue filters can affect vehicle reliability, efficiency and performance. Keeping up with your log book schedule also provides a useful service history, which can demonstrate that the vehicle has been regularly maintained if you decide to sell it in the future.

New Car Service in Cessnock

Engines that operate through internal combustion rely on large amounts of clean air to ensure the fuel burns properly and generates the power needed to drive the vehicle. At Peter Mann Automotive in Cessnock, we understand how vital it is to keep your car's air filter in good condition as part of protecting your engine's health. Your engine requires extremely clean air to function efficiently. Dirt, dust, and other particles entering the engine can cause serious damage. That’s where the air filter comes into play. It ensures the air entering the combustion chambers is clean, shielding key engine components such as the pistons and cylinders from wear and damage. Why Replace Your Air Filter? Save on Fuel Costs: Your engine requires the correct balance of fuel and air to run efficiently. A clogged air filter restricts airflow, causing your engine to run inefficiently – often referred to as ‘running rich.’ This not only puts additional stress on your engine but can also increase fuel consumption by up to 10%. No one likes spending more on petrol than necessary! Protect Your Engine: Over time, air filters become clogged and weaker, increasing the risk of damage. A damaged or overly dirty air filter can allow harmful particles to enter the engine, potentially leading to expensive repairs. Benefits of Replacing Your Air Filter: Extends the life of your engine Improves fuel efficiency Reduces vehicle emissions At Peter Mann Automotive, we always check the condition of your air filter during every full car service. Whether it’s a major or minor service, or one that follows your manufacturer’s handbook or logbook guidelines, you can trust us to keep your engine running smoothly.

Keep your engine healthy with clean air filters. Improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and extend engine life. Visit Peter Mann Automotive for expert maintenance and reliable car servicing.
